This is the Kirkley side of the 1903 Swing Bridge and the 2016 Bascule Bridge. The building on the right of the 1903 photo is the old Harbour Master's House. Now you see the wall of the Yacht Club grounds. The building with the turrett you see to the left of it is the top of the Tuttle's building. Today there is no turrett.
The tram ran from the just past Belle Vue Park at the north end of town, down London Road, and on to Pakefield, were it ended at the Tramway's Hotel. It was built in 1903 and only lasted 27 years, when it was torn up. You could get across town in 7 minutes.
