There is a sale to-morrow (Saturday) at the Workhouse from 3 to 5,30. Admission 6p including tea-thought I would like to go. Com down about 2 o'clock if you would like to go. All those pretty baskets will be there.

Funny that going to the workhouse is a day out. The Lowestoft Workhouse was located in Oulton Broad.

This card was posted in 1906 and probably the photo was taken the previous year or so. Notice the construction machinery in the lower right was there to rebuild the bank that collapsed in the fierce storm in 1903.
