Have just finished my second days work. Papers so far have been fairly good. Have got a front sitting room to myself. I have my meals alone. Really, I feel as if I am an old maid in a cozy little home of my own. Mother came with me yesterday & went home by train that arrives at [unreadable] at 7.20.

We think of women at this time as "stay at home", but I find a surprising amount of correspondence from women who are working and traveling on the job, even if the traveling is just from Halesworth to Kirkley.
