Caption: South Beach Esplanade and Pier, Lowestoft

The Pier in the caption is the South Pier, which was the southern-most pier until the Claremont was finished in 1903. This photographer was standing just south of where the Claremont was going to be built. If you look on the left you'll see the corner of Wellington Gardens. The small building would have been very close to where the present day ice cream hut is situated.
