This view is from the corner of Rectory Road and the Esplanade. The wall you see in on the left is still there and is in front of St. Mary's Convent. The house you see behind the wall is not the convent, which was built in the mid 1920's. I don't know if this house was torn down to build the convent or if it was damaged by the bombings in WWI, which were quite close.
