Caption: The Cliffs, Lowestoft

This card shows the constant erosion that threatened the Kirkley cliffs until the beach was stabilized by the groynes. Unfortunately, the stabilisation of the beach at Kirlkey created more erosion just a few hundred yards further south and is thought to be the impetus for the severe cliff erosion in Pakefield.
