Caption-The Fish Market, Lowesoft

Here is a lovely photo of a family wandering the docks. From the general emptiness of the dock and the cast of their shadows, this was late in afternoon, when the boats were all out. Wandering the docks was part of the holiday and enormously entertaining, in the days before "elf and safety" for a middle and upper-class families to poke around and see how the natives spent their days.
