For a long time the shoals of herrings that come [sic] to British waters in the autumn were missing and it was proposed to send out airmen to search for them. But just as this was about to be done, the herrings arrived, and millions have been caught. Many are packed in barrels and exported to the Continent, where the people welcome them in these times of scarcity.
