This photo was taken in the back garden of a house that could have been in one of many terraces. The houses behind the women are a bit larger than the 2 ups/2 downs in the working class neighbourhoods, but a bit smaller than the grand houses on the seafront. They remind me of the back gardens of the houses on London Road South and Marine Parade.
