The little girl on the left is a bit blurry. It must have been hard to keep children still long enought for the photo! The child on the right is a young boy (I think!) and is wearing the long hair and skirts of the day that middle and upper-class boys under the age of 5 wore. I think he's a boy because his hair is gathered to the back behind his ears and his shoes and stockings are a bit chunky. There's just a masculine look about him (or her!).
