We were very glad to get oyur lovely long letter when we got back this mng from getting our "Stickybacks" taken. We will not stay more to commence on its various items. We do hope you got off comfortably this mng and are now well on your journey, possibly (laughing) that you will all have a real good time & come back quite fit. The lrg bldg on the left is the P.O. & Surrey St (XXXX) up by the side- the lamp post is at the corner. We have just returned from a quick stroll on to the pier which we have both enjoyed and are quite ready for lunch. We have been a little hungry but the sun is shining beautifully. We are ALRIGHT

"Stickyback" photos look like they where taken by a modern automatic photo-booth but were taken by hand. They measured about 2 inches by 1.5 inches and were printed by a new machine invented by a Mr Spiridione Grossi from Brighton. The had a gum coating on the back which could be moistened like a postage stamp. Sticky backs were extremely popular at the time and were stuck to postcards and sent to friends.
