From an email received April, 2018-
As promised, I [owner, Peter Parke] attach a shortened history of this boat, from when she was built in 1972 up to her sale from Woodbridge in 2017.
I also attach a couple more photographs. One is of the boat on, or almost on, the day I bought her in 1989 and took the covers off. The other is of her during Spring outfitting in about 2005.
For years, an old chap called Arthur Thickpenny, from Wrentham, used to paint on the numbers for, as I recall, £5 a set. For a while the MCA insisted on the numbers also on the stern quarters, until the stupidity of doing that on an 18 foot boat was pointed out to them. I much preferred paying £10 the lot, rather than £20.
When Arthur packed up, we had to do our own. This is not easy on a clinker boat!
