Dear Mrs. Morris,
Thanks for letter. No panic here- all as usual except prices, warships and aeroplanes. Steve just arrived from Cromer staying with us for a few days. All boys and ourselves are well & brown. Hope you are having a good time. We are returning by steamer on Friday.
Love to all

The reference on the message was to the start of WW1. Britain declared war on August 4, 1914, just 7 days before this card was posted. This was a family who was having a nice holiday and suddenly noticed the many troop and warship movements in the first days of the war. I have another card where a tourist noticed a sudden movement in the warships.
