Dear May & Arthur
Well this is another day gone. We have just been watching the kiddies forts it. It is very interesting the weather is still grand. Hope Bruce has gained his Laurals back.

Caption: Rogerson Hall, Main Entrance
Can you possibly find a place more grim to holiday at? Rogerson Hall would make a good youth prison, complete with watch tower.
Located in Corton, Rogerson Hall was at a co-operative holiday camp for the Worker's Travel Association. The hall itself was built in 1938, but I'm sure didn't have any holidays there in the war years. In 1948 when this card was sent, it was surely being cleaned up (note the spindly, newly-planted trees) and put back to its original intent.
Rogerson Hall was a "pioneer" style of holiday camp that was closer to camping than the resort style of a Butlins. The number of people the camp could accommodate was kept smaller (about 500 visitors at a time) and the simpler accommodations and entertainments kept the price lower and more affordable to its working class clientele.
