Like Israel hard am I,
My Soul is at a stand.
A sea before, a hard behind
And rocks on either hand.
O Lord, I cry to Thee,
And would "Thy" word obey,
Bid me advance, and there's the sea
Crash a new made way
The time a greatest straits,
Thy chosen time hath been;
To manifest Thy power so great,
And make Thy glory seen.
Thou was't Abraham owned,
A God in time of need,
Thou art Jehovah Isaiah found,
By Abraham's chosen seed.

Caption: Birthday Greetings
Take the wish that this conveys
For a year of golden days.

This was in a group of birthday cards sent to the Yallops of Lowestoft. I don't have any other clue that this belonged to Murial Yallop, but the Yallops owned some fishing boats during this period and this poem or song has a fishing theme, so I kept it as a curiousity.

This poem doesn't turn up on internet, so it wasn't famous enough to have been published or, at least, remain in publication. The rhyme and metre is a bit off, so it's possible it was composed by a hobbyist.
