Jan. 5th- School re-opened. Miss Craig has permission to return to duty to-morrow.

Jan. 8th- The Headmaster was absent ill yesterday.

Jan. 9th- 18 pupils who went home for Christmas have not yet returned. Most of them are obtaining employment.

Jan. 12th- The Woodwork, Needlework, & Gardening Sales money for year ending Dec. 31st- £10.19.3- sent to Office.

Albert Barratt (15) passed the Entrance Exam for the Naval Fleet Arm Apprentices, but was rejected at the medical examination.

Jan. 23rd- Very cold all this week. Snow yesterday & to-day.

5 more pupils returned from their Christmas holiday this week. The no. on the Register is now 64.

Feby 13th- The School Admission Registry was sent to the Office, Lowestoft, at the request of the Town Clerk.

Feby. 18th- School Closed on Mon & Tues, Feby 16th & 17th.

Feby. 27th- Miss Quintell was absent ill yesterday & to-day.

March- 3rd- The School Nurse examined all boys & girls.

March 5th- Snow blizzard to-day.

March 16th- Owing to the death of his brother the Headmaster was absent from duty all last week, Mar. 9th to 13th.

March 27th- The senior boys & girls were entertained to tea after school this afternoon.

April 1st- Miss H. M. Craig, our Domestic Science Mistress since September 1933, left to-day for a post at Middleton Grammar School, Lancashire.

4 boys and 1 girl left School to-day, all returning to their parents.

April 2nd- School closed for the Easter Holiday this (Thurs) morning. Miss Quintrell & Mr. Outlaw are remaining in Hadfield.

April 13th- School re-opened. 4 more pupils who went home for Easter have not returned.

April 20th- Hot Dinners commenced to-day. The meals are prepared at Mottram and served at Bank St. School at a cost of 2/- per head per week.

18 of our scholars are having the meal this week.

April 23rd- Forwarded to the office £3.10.0 & 18 clothing coupons received from Miss Craig for Needlework sales.

April 24th- 3 more scholars have left this week. The number on the Register is now 47.

May 13th- Miss Quintell is absent ill to-day.

May 15th- Miss Quintell returned to duty after 2 days’ absence.

May 21st- 2 Stock Books & 1 Sales Book sent to Office.

May 22nd- School Closed for the Whitsentide Holiday at noon.

June 2nd- School re-opened.

June 8th- Miss F. Quintrell finished duty here to-day. She is instructed to return to Lowestoft. A further 2000 travel vouchers have been received for issue to the scholars who travel daily by bus from Glossop. Printers a/c sent to Lowestoft.

June 12th- Victor Holt and George Skeet have been granted exemption by the Lowestoft Authority, both having obtained employment in Hadfield.

June 26th- Donald Bush (13) returned home to Lowestoft.

The number of our scholars having Hot Dinners at School varies from 11-18 per day.

The number of the School Register is now 41 - 9 seniors and 32 juniors.

July 1st- Miss Badham took the 5 senior girls to Buxton to-day. The expenses will be met by the School Fund.

July 17th- Dorren Lee, Wm. Doddington, Ina Herring, & Maureen Gowen have returned to their homes.

July 24th- The Headmaster was absent ill yesterday. He returned to duty to-day.

July 31st- Instructions have been received from the Town Clerk that all our School Furniture and stock- stationery, text-books, apparatus, timber, etc- must be returned to Lowestoft and to-day it was consigned to L.N.E.R. container, addressed to Morton Road School.

August 4th- This afternoon the Lowestoft Central School is finally closing down. Only 3 seniors pupils remain & they will join the Castle School. The 31 junior scholars who were transferred here in September last will now be taken into the Castle School and the West End School, Glossop.

Of the staff, Mr. Outlaw (Handicraft) will now work full-time in the Castle School; Miss M.S. Badham (Senior Mistress) will return to the Castle School next term for a few weeks to complete her 40 years service and will then retire.

Mr. T. H. Adams (Headmaster since opening of the Central School in 1919) is retiring now.

And so ends the Lowestoft Central School.
